Synopsis of E-Business (EBB6343)

Greetings! Below is the synopsis of the course.


Electronic business (e-business) is concerned with not only the buying and selling or exchange of products/services and information through computer networks, but also with the servicing of customers and collaborating with business partners, and conducting electronic transactions within an organization. It is also about technology, speed, productivity, globalization and sharing of knowledge for competitive edge. This course will address issues related to how e-business is being conducted and managed, and its major opportunities, threats, issues and risks. It will discuss the driving forces of e-business in the new world of business, the economic changes brought by e-business, managerial issues of e-business, and effective strategies for e-business. The e-business applications will be examined within the context of business-to-consumers (B2C), business-to-business (B2B), customer-to-customer (C2C), customer-to-business (C2B), government-to-consumer (G2C), and intra-business; and the support services will also be covered, ranging from security and electronic payment system to communication standards, public policy, legal issues and ethics. The students will also learn the basics of creating interactive websites using Joomla! application.
